Starting from the college list building stage in late sophomore or early junior year, to guiding you through the whole process, I’m here for you! 

When should my child/teen start thinking about college applications?

I always say “early birds get…less stressed!”. As a college counselor, I’ve seen a lot of stressed students coming into the process at the last minute! While I’m happy to help as a personal essay editor on your own timeline, I always recommend students start early – at least in the spring of Junior year (Grade 11).
Starting too early though (at the wrong stages) is not always the best option. Remember that in junior high, students should be more focused on exploring their interests, enjoying their extracurriculars, and should worry less about the college applications essays or process. In fact, college admissions essay prompts only come out in the early spring of junior (Grade 11) year, or later.
In Sophomore year (Grade 10), you may want to start touring a few college tours, attending workshops on careers planning, or simply exploring more of your interests. Start thinking about

What types of college applications do you help with? (Do you work with both undergraduate and graduate personal essay editing?)

Applying to universities is a complicated process and varies depending on whether you’re applying to do an undergraduate degree or graduate degree. Don’t worry – I’m here to support you either way! I’ve had a lot of experience with personal essay editing both for law school and graduate school applications and for undergraduate university applications (for the UK, USA, Europe, and Canada). Will you help with the whole college applications (university applications) process, or only personal essay editing?

Absolutely! As a college admissions counselor, I help with the whole process college admissions process, from college list building strategy, to Common App guidance, brainstorming for essays and personal essay editing. A detailed map of your journey working with me is also available.

No! While I help with the brainstorming essays and understanding college applications process, students need to write their own essays. My role as a college admissions counselor is to guide students throughout the process, help them brainstorm so they can write

Do you help with Canadian, European, and UK university admissions applications?

Yes! In fact, I’ve studied (and worked!) in Canada, the UK and Europe, so I can give you detailed insight on the differences in the higher educational systems and campus vibe there. Students are often surprised when they understand the differences in curriculum, expectations, campus culture, and tuition fees in other countries. When you hire me as a college admissions counselor, you’ll get a comprehensive understanding on what the best college options are for you.

Do you help transfer students with admissions essay editing?

Yes! I help a handful of students every year who have decided they would like to submit transfer college applications. Some of these students are applying to universities in the US, while others are looking at the UK, Europe, Canada or other international universities. So, if you’re a first-year or freshman college student who has found that their current campus isn’t the right fit and is looking to transfer, I’m happy to help! Please remember most transfer application deadlines are in early March, so plan for your college applications with this in mind.

Do you help graduate students with admissions essay editing?

Absolutely! In fact, I started in Graduate Admissions many years ago, before taking on undergraduates. I’ve helped many students with their graduate university applications across the globe, with many successfully being offered places at top schools in their field.
